You might already know this if you are a Class of 2020 Senior and have done The Classic Shoot with me in the last month but I thought I’d write a lil blog post about this for future clients!
I’m doing something new halfway through the senior season. Senior season in Portland is so short that I usually can’t change things up mid-way. It’s not fair to my first few seniors and I’d rather fully test something before changing it but this change needed to happen now.
This year I added The Classic Shoot to give more options for seniors and with that session, they get an online gallery of their images to choose from. I’ve rarely done online galleries the past 4 years so I didn’t fully think this process through.
I sent an email that was excited for them to see their images, that explained the timeline and how to select their favorites included in the session fee but something was missing.
What I forgot is how busy a 17 year old is. In the summer they have jobs, trips, friends and are usually pretty busy coming and going. Finding time for them with an equally busy parent, especially if there is more than one kid in the fam, can be challenging.
For The Luxe Shoots, they schedule an appointment with me to come to their home, show them all their images and place their order. It’s all done in about an hour, easy peasy! But for the first few Classic Shoots this year I could tell they didn’t have that time together to look at the gallery.
Enter the Digital Reveal! Cue sound effects – Wah wah wahhhhhhh!
After your Classic Shoot, I send you a link to schedule time together as a family. It might sound cheesy but your parents want to be with you when you go through the gallery. They want to see these beautiful images of you together and pick out your favorites together.
Some families might have done this on their own, but I wanted to find a way to help families have this time together even if I wasn’t there. Time is about to speed up for senior year, grab time together now while you can.
