Spring portrait sessions
Spring is one of my favorite seasons in the PNW! Once everything starts to bud out, the rhodies bloom, and bulbs start popping up out of the ground I can’t wait to get back out into our amazing local parks for portrait sessions! Here are some of my fav Spring Sessions but as always, if you have an idea for a session please let me know! I love bringing your ideas to life through photos!
Spring Family Photoshoots
Spring is a wonderful time to update your family portraits! Especially if you didn’t find the time last Fall. But even if you did, taking your family pictures during a season that isn’t typical for your family can capture a different background, you can wear different colors but most importantly, capture your family! Whether you have littles that are growing and changing so fast in their early years or maybe parents that are getting up there and you want to get pics with them and the grandkids.
Mother’s Day Present
As a mom I can tell you that I ALWAYS want more photos of me and my kiddo. Probably because I’m the one taking the photos most of the time. So if you’ve noticed your wife or partner is the one that takes the pics, treat them to a photoshoot for an early Mother’s Day present! That way on Mother’s day they’ll have amazing photos to share! Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 11th this year.
Spring Senior Sessions
Spring in the Portland area isn’t the typical season for senior pictures. Senior pictures are usually done the summer before senior year and into the Fall of senior year. But if you were one of the seniors that missed out last fall, hated your senior pictures for some reason, or just kinda put it off for awhile…I got you! Spring Senior Sessions start outdoors in late March through May. That way you can get your pictures made into Grad Cards before graduation!
Cap and Gown Mini Sessions
For the seniors that already did their senior pictures, or maybe don’t want a full hour long session the Cap and Gown Minis are totally for you. These are a quick 20 minute session designed to get you portraits in your graduation garb and maybe also in something that represents what you are doing after high school. These sessions can be for college and beyond as well! I LOVE doing Cap and Gown photoshoots for adults graduating from their masters programs and even higher levels of education. You worked hard for that and deserve to celebrate! I’ll have two dates in May for Cap and Gown Minis but if you are at Oregon State University, George Fox, Linfield, Western and so many more colleges and universities that aren’t too far from Portland feel free to reach out! We can book a few of your friends back to back and have a fun photoshoot on your campus!
Professional Headshots
Headshots happen year-round but I’ve noticed they tend to happen more in the Spring than other seasons—especially corporate headshots for small to mid sized companies that want to update all their employee pictures. Every month you can book a quick 10-15min session in the NW studio. These are always on weekday mornings, but new this year I’ve got a few weekend options available too! And if you want to update pictures for your entire workforce, reach out! I can travel to your office and set up or we can have everyone come to my studio open house style. I’m happy to work with you on what your company needs.
Spring School Portraits
Spring School pictures are so fun for small to medium sized private schools. These sessions are great if you didn’t have a good experience with your photographer in the fall, or maybe want to try to get away from the big box company and work with a local photographer. My approach for school pictures is to engage with the kiddos for real natural smiles instead of just assuming they know what to do. I work with kiddos from just a few months old through early teens. Other Photoshoot Ideas for Spring
The above are just the big general ideas for Spring photoshoots but there is so much more we can capture! Do you have a new puppy or maybe your furry friend is getting up there in years? I’d love to take some candid photos with you and your furry loved one! Milestone sessions for your baby’s first year can start at anytime. If you were totally overwhelmed in the first few months, let’s capture them at 6 months or maybe a special shoot at 12 months when they are just starting to toddle around!
