I have Spring in quotes because we were supposed to do this photoshoot back in March. Obviously that didn’t happen, and then not in April or May but finally, we had the Class of 2021 Senior Squad Spring Styled Shoot last week!
The Spring Styled Shoot is a tradition for the Senior Squad. The girls are still in their Junior year of high school, still getting to know me, the other girls in the squad, and we come up with a theme together. Every year it’s different and I love that these shoots are so full of creativity.
At the Welcome Party back in February, we talked about ideas and the girls came up with a great idea. They wanted to recreate a photo of their mom from when she was a teen. It could be a senior picture, a glamour shot photo, or just a candid photo. I loved the idea but was worried it wouldn’t bring the girls together as much as a group theme would. But actually, this was the best theme for our current situation! Who would have known? We were able to schedule so they each had their own time in the studio.
At the last minute, I thought we should have a second idea because recreating a photo won’t take that long. Get the pose and expression and we’re good…what will we do with the other 58 minutes? Ha! So I threw out an idea to the girls. I’ve seen the Vogue Challenge all over social media and figured it was something the girls could easily pull together from their closets. I asked them to pick one outfit to be a cover photo and wow oh wow, I’m so glad we added this idea! Not only did it help fill the day, but I love how the images turned out so much!
More images from their cover photoshoot…
Hopefully the state of things will improve before our Fall Styled Shoot so that we can have more group bonding! Class of 2021 Senior Portraits are starting this week and I can’t wait!
