Family portrait sessions are a fantastic way to capture your family today.  Little ones grow up and change so quickly.  One day they are a toddler learning to express themselves and the next they are teenagers looking forward to their future.  Every milestone should be captured and yearly family portraits are a great way to ensure you have these memories.

Family portrait sessions are fully customized for YOUR family.  We’ll pick the date, location and time of day that works best for your family. These sessions are perfect for the family that hasn’t had family portraits in a few years, wants to bring their dog(s), or even bring grandparents for some special family combinations.

These will be offered about once a month, typically on a Saturday morning and will have a variety of locations throughout the year. Perfect for a kids Personality Session, a quick family session or a headshot session! These will have limited spots.

Some frequently asked questions

Family portraits in the Portland Area happen year-round! The most popular season is Fall. September through early November I’m out every weekend with families all over from the suburbs to the city! If the weather is dreary we can book our time into the NW Portland Studio.

I will send you my guide that breaks down my top tips for all age groups before your session. What I want you to know is that I let the kids run the photoshoot. I wanna keep them happy and having fun to capture all the smiles and love! Parents, I’ll remind you to keep looking at me and the camera while I get your kiddos attention with a variety of crazy sounds and even a stuffed monkey that comes along. He helps kids know where to look!
The photoshoot will feel like pure chaos. Because it is! But not to worry, you’ll LOVE all the photos from fun candids to simply posed family portraits.

For outdoor sessions, within 2hrs of sunrise and sunset are the optimal time for light. But as a Mom myself, I know those times aren’t always the best for kiddos. Please be sure to let me know if we need to work around a naptime or a feeding. I’d rather have happy, rested and fed kiddos than grumpy or falling asleep ones! And if you book a studio session, the light is beautiful all day!

I LOVE dogs but be sure to let me know. Some of my locations don’t allow dogs so it’s always good to know in advance. The other thing to consider is that dogs can take time to get posed and looking at the camera. So if you bring them to a 30min photoshoot, we won’t get a ton of variety. And one last note, the studio doesn’t allow pets.
