It’s Senior Squad Week! Woohoo! This week is all about featuring the Class of 2018 Senior Squad! Come back every day to see their beautiful images from our lil headshot mini session last month and read their answers to my silly q’s to get to know them a bit better. There are 4 girls on the squad this year so there will be a post everyday! A new blogging record for me! ha!
Every year in mid/late December I put out an application to join the AGP Senior Squad. This is for high school juniors that want something extra from their senior portrait experience. It’s for juniors that already know they want me to be their senior photographer and for that I get to shower them with some pretty awesome perks! From those that applied I invited 13 to come to the parent meetings. People were curious what my criteria was and it was based on the girls answers. If they seemed interested or were giving short answers that weren’t sentences. Also if they had good grades because I know the focus is that they maintain good grades and I love rewarding those that work hard at their studies. And last but not least, I was double checking their social media. These girls were invited to be the face of my business for the next year and a half and I wanted to ensure I got good girls that were worthy of these awesome perks. I was not looking for selfie-queens that just want more pretty pictures of themselves. Real girls that have real friends. Out of those invited, we had 6 total come to parent meetings. Next year I think I’m going to plan a bigger event, rent a space and give more notice. I know they are all busy with sports and the weather was an issue too so I’m already putting it in my calendar to plan ahead next year! I know for several girls they applied and then let me know it was just too soon to make this huge decision. I totally get it! It is early and exactly why I have parent meetings so everyone knows what the deal is.
Here’s a lil snippit about the girls….3 go to Westview and 1 goes to Tigard High. I’m so happy to finally have a girl from Tigard on the squad cause I went to Tigard! THS THS THS! And I was totally surprised I had so many from Westview but its telling me I must have done something right last year with Melany from the Class of 2017 Senior Squad and her bff Kaitlin who I met at the BFF Minis last spring and got to do her senior pictures in September. Love these girls!
On Sunday I’ll have a super special video from our headshot session so come back for that!
