Last Saturday was the first Senior Squad shoot for the Class of 2017! Woohoo! We had a blast!
Part of being in the Senior Squad is the extra PERKS! These girls get a mini headshot session and next month we’ll have a styled photoshoot. Very fashion forward and an amazing experience. Plus they’ll have their senior pictures taken by me in the Summer. Senior Squad members get first dibs on available dates before I open up my calendar to everyone else. It’s really such a great opportunity to enhance your Senior portrait experience! They get a fun swag bag with lil goodies, the t-shirt and professional makeup is included for the headshots, the styled shoot AND their senior portrait session! Perks!
These were casual mini sessions for fun, simple headshots. This offered a great chance for all the girls to meet. They all go to different high schools so it was fun to just hang out and find each other on social media. We jammed to some music while filling out a silly questionnaire (coming soon on the blog) and waiting for their turn in the makeup chair. My fab makeup artist Haley brought her giant makeup trolley and personalized the makeup for each girl. And can I say how amazing they all looked! Professional makeup makes all the difference when it comes to having your portrait taken. It not only provides a flawless finish and speeds up my editing time by hours (thank you Haley!) but it really puts the girls in the right frame of mind. When you have your makeup done it gets you more comfortable in front of the camera faster. I mean everyone is nervous and awkward the first few shots but having that time to get pampered a bit makes all the difference! Sneak Peaks went up on my instagram on Sunday but below are a few more of these lovely ladies!
As the girls got their makeup done I’d take one to get her headshot. We kept it simple, just 2-3 poses. We started with the basic flattering woman pose. You put one foot forward with the toe aimed at the camera and the other foot goes back with your weight in it, perpendicular to the other foot. Sounds complicated but super easy and slims you down for the camera….even tho none of these girls needed that at all! Ohhhh to have a teen metabolism again! We played with facial expressions, using our hands and loved the light wind that came through!
It’s been months of planning for this and I’m just so stoked that the senior portrait season is just beginning! Check back in a couple days to see more of their gorgeous faces and learn some fun silly facts about my Senior Squad Team!
